What documents do I need to rent a vehicle?

You need a valid category B driving licence (held for at least 2 years), a national ID card or passport, and the ability to pay the refundable security deposit when collecting the vehicle. The minimum driver age is 21; for the Mercedes X 250d and Toyota Land Cruiser it's 23, with a driving licence held for at least 3 years. A second driver can be added to the contract free of charge if they meet the same conditions.

Is insurance included in the price?

Yes, every vehicle has third-party liability and comprehensive/collision cover through ČSOB Pojišťovna. The excess in the event of damage is 10%, minimum CZK 10,000, paid from the security deposit.

Question 3

How many kilometres are included?

Accepted Answer

The price includes 300 km for each day of rental — calculated for the whole rental, so 5 days = 1,500 km. We charge CZK 5/km over the limit, based on the odometer reading at return. Travel abroad is possible by prior arrangement.

How many of us can travel?

Accepted Answer

The price does not depend on the number of passengers. You can travel with as many people as the vehicle has seats; the seat count is listed for each vehicle in our fleet.

Can I travel abroad?

Accepted Answer

Yes, by prior arrangement with us — EU/EEA countries, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the Balkans are permitted. The vehicle cannot be taken to Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, Turkey or outside Europe. Please tell us your planned route before booking, so we know what to recommend and prepare for.

How much is the security deposit?

The deposit varies by vehicle — CZK 30,000 for the Mercedes X 250d and Citroën Hobby, CZK 40,000 for the Toyota Land Cruiser and VW Multivan. It's paid by bank transfer in advance or in cash on collection, and we return it within 7 days after a trouble-free return.

What happens if I return the vehicle late?

We charge CZK 400 for each hour or part thereof of delay, up to a maximum of 3 hours. For a longer delay, instead of the hourly fee we charge the daily rental rate increased by 50% for each day or part thereof.

What should I do in case of a breakdown?

Accepted Answer

Call our 24/7 assistance line. In the event of a breakdown, we'll arrange towing and either a replacement vehicle or accommodation.

Can I bring my dog?

Accepted Answer

Pets are allowed only by prior arrangement — let us know when booking. We charge a CZK 1,000 cleaning surcharge (see the fee schedule) and ask that the vehicle be returned free of hair and odours.

Question 10

Where do I collect the vehicle?

Accepted Answer

You'll collect the vehicle in Prague or Pilsen, depending on availability. For a surcharge, we can deliver and collect it anywhere in the Czech Republic for CZK 12/km from the nearer branch (Prague or Pilsen).

Where can I take the Land Cruiser or Mercedes X off-road?

Accepted Answer

Paved and unpaved public roads, forest and field tracks where entry is permitted, and snow. Not allowed: races and timed drives, off-road parks and test tracks, driving off marked tracks, fording deeper than 450 mm (Land Cruiser) / 400 mm (Mercedes X), beaches, dunes and frozen water. A mandatory consultation and briefing on the off-road modes (min. 15 minutes) takes place at handover. The exact definition is in the rental rules; a breach means a contractual penalty of CZK 13,000 plus full damages, unlimited by any protection package.

What is the Carefree / Carefree+ vehicle protection package?

An optional reduction of the renter's liability for vehicle damage — not an insurance product. Carefree lowers the excess to CZK 5,000 and covers tyres, rims, glass and the underbody up to CZK 30,000; Carefree+ has zero excess and covers the underbody up to CZK 60,000 plus the roof tent and keys. You choose it directly in the booking for the Land Cruiser and Mercedes X; it doesn't cover damage in prohibited terrain, under the influence of alcohol or drugs, caused intentionally, by an undeclared driver, or by gross negligence.

When do I collect and return the vehicle? Can I collect earlier or return later?

Accepted Answer

Standard pickup is 14:00–18:00 and return 8:00–11:00, included in the price. An early pickup (8:00–14:00) or a late return (11:00–20:00) costs a one-off surcharge of CZK 800 for each of the two (you can choose both), and you select it directly in the booking. Both are only possible if our operations allow it and the vehicle has no other booking immediately before or after yours — we'll check availability and confirm. Outside 8:00–20:00 we'll arrange it by phone. An unarranged late return is subject to the fee schedule.

Question 14

Do you charge a vehicle preparation and cleaning fee?

Accepted Answer

Only for the Citroën Hobby motorhome: CZK 1,990 incl. VAT, charged once per rental (not per day). It covers the standard cleaning and preparation before handover — cleaning and disinfection of the interior, cleaning of the toilet and tanks, topping up water, gas and toilet chemicals, fresh bed linen and a vehicle check. It is part of the total booking price; the long-stay discount and discount codes do not apply to it. It is not charged for the Mercedes X 250d, VW Multivan or Toyota Land Cruiser.

Is a category B driving licence enough?

Accepted Answer

Yes, a category B licence is enough for all our vehicles, including the motorhome (it's under 3.5 t); minimum 2 years' experience, age 21 — for the Mercedes X 250d and Land Cruiser it's 23 and 3 years' experience.

Question 16

Can you heat the motorhome?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The Citroën Hobby has an independent Truma Combi 6 E heater with water heating — it runs on gas (2 × 11 kg propane-butane on board) or from a 230 V hook-up at a campsite (900 / 1,800 W). Never heat with the stove or oven (carbon monoxide).

Manuals for all vehicles are available as PDFs on the Guide › Vehicle Manuals page and in the website footer; you'll get the link and the attachment in your booking confirmation and again a few days before pickup. A printed manual is also in the vehicle.

Question 18

Can I manage a motorhome as a beginner?

Accepted Answer

Yes, a category B licence and a bit of respect for the dimensions (height 2.70 m, length 6.78 m) are enough. At handover we'll go through the vehicle together (about 30 minutes).
